Show LA TRILOGIA ESISTENZIALE Omaggio a Michelangelo Antonioni

The installation Provvisorio per sempre was created especially for the exhibition La Trilogia Esistenziale. This project was curated by Maria Cristina Strati and dedicated to Michelangelo Antonioni’s Existential Trilogy-La notte (1961), L’avventura (1960) e L’eclisse (1962). In particular my work is inspired by the 1961 movie La Notte.

Taking as a strating point the life of the couple (Marcello Mastroianni and Jeanne Moreau) I try to reveal the intimate relation and permeability between these two characters. Even if they were in the finish of their marriage, we can see the love story between them and the tree is the metaphor of their love. This tree is made of fabric, skillfully sewn in white brocade, and it is hold by a wooden structure. I am not interested in dealing with the real end of the movie, but translate this story in a poetic dimension, reaching other layers of meaning. Provvisorio per sempre ( Provisional forever) refers to a state of mind in which the built of our life is emotional and intuitive, a dimension that makes us feel fragil about what we thought we knew
